मार्च २०२२ मा कठिन परिस्थितिमा आयोजना गरिएको संघको १० औं महाधिवेशन सम्पन्न भएता पनि तत्कालिन नेपाल सरकारले एकापक्ष रुपमा कानुन मिचेर संघ फुटाउन लागि पर्यो।
नेपाली कांग्रेसका नेता तथा तत्कालिन परराष्ट्र मन्त्री डा. नारायण खड्का संघलाइ डिरेलबाट ट्याकमा ल्याउन चाहन्थे। तर नेकपा एमाले र नेपाली कांग्रेसका उपसभापति पुर्णबहादुर खड्का र महामन्त्री गगनकुमार थापाले प्रलोभनमा परेर संघलाइ टुक्य्राउन मात्र होइन धरासायी नै बनाउन सफल भए।
त्यसैले संघको १० औं महाधिवेशन दुइ ठाउँमा भयो। एउटा निर्धारित होटल याक एण्ड यति र अर्को हिमालय होटलमा। निर्धारित र आधिकारिक याक एण्ड यतिमा सम्पन्न भएको अधिवेशनबाट बिनोद कुँवर अध्यक्षमा निर्बिरोध निर्वाचती भए। तर पछि परराष्ट्र मन्त्रालयले बिधि मिचेर स्वीकृत दिएन। त्यसैले कुवर नेतृत्व सर्वोच्च अदालतमा न्याय माग्न पुग्यो।
सोहि कुँवर नेतृत्वको टिमको निवेदनमा सर्वोच्च अदालतको परमादेश दियो र संघको भनिएको दुवै १० औं ११ औं महाधिवेशन सबै रद्द गरिदियो। अनि गैरआवासीय नेपाली संघ (एनआरएनए) १० औं महाधिवेशन फेरी गर्न एक पूर्व अध्यक्ष डा. शेष घलेको नेतृत्वमा उच्चस्तरीय समितिमा गठन गरिदियो।
समितिमा बिनोद कुवर नेतृत्वका तीन जना सदस्य छन्। बिनोद कुँवर, जानकी गुरुङ र उमेश पुडासैनी। त्यही समितिले एकताको महाधिवेशन २०२५ को मे महिनाको ३, ४ र ५ मा काठमाडौँमा भौतिक उपस्थिति भएर गर्ने तयारी गरेको छ। यो लडाइमा निरन्तर लागि परेका कुँवर नेतृत्वले २३ भन्दा धेरै देशमा राष्ट्रिय संगठन बनाउन सफल भयो। मार्च २०२४ मा अधिवेशन गर्नुपर्ने थियो तर अदालतको फैसला नआइसकेकाले बार्षिक साधारण सभा मात्र गर्यो।
अहिले यो अधिवेशन सफल बनाउन उच्चस्तरीय समितिका सक्रिय मध्ये एक छन् उनै बिनोद कुँवर। दक्षिण कोरियामा बिगत ३ दशक भन्दा लामो समय देखि बस्दै आएका उनि अहिले महाधिवेशन कार्यविधि बनाउने काममा होस् या राष्ट्रिय संगठनलाइ परिचानन अनि नीति-बिधि बनाउन होस् सक्रिय मात्र होइन उनको योगदान प्रष्ट रुपमा देखियो।

अध्यक्षको प्रत्यासी हो भन्ने जिज्ञासामा उनको जवाफ यस्तो थियो, सबैभन्दा पहिला महाधिवेशनको तयारी सकौं। निष्पक्ष रुपमा निर्वाचन गतिबिधि जाने तयारी गरौँ अनि त्यो बिधिमा जो आए पनि फरक पर्दैन। मेरो लागि यो नयाँ कुरा पनि होइन। धेरे ठाउँमा नेतृत्व लिएको छु, क्षमता छ, समय छ, काम गरेको अनुभव छ, काम गर्ने इच्छ छ, सके सम्मको योगदान दिएको नै छु।
