धानको रोप्ने बेला भएकाले यसलाई “मानो रोपेर मुरी उब्जाउने” महिना भन्ने गरिन्छ। केहि बर्ष देखि असार १५ लाइ धान दिवसको रुपमा पनि मनाउने गरिएको छ। धान दिवससंगै रोपाईं जात्राका रुपमा मनाउने गरिन्छ। यस दिन खेतमा धान रोपाईंसंगै आपसमा हिलो छ्यापाछ्याप गरेर मनोरञ्जन गर्ने तथा दही चिउरा खाने चलन छ।
कामको चटारोले थकित भएका किसानलाई दही र चिउराले शक्ति र शीतलता प्राप्त हुने विश्वास छ। खेतीपाती बाहेक अन्य पेसा र व्यवसाय रहेकाहरुले पनि आज दही च्यूरा खाई असार १५ मनाउँछन्। आज २१ औँ धान दिवसको उपलक्षमा नेपालले जलवायु मैत्री कृषि, धान उत्पादनमा वृद्धि भन्ने नाराका साथ मनाइँदैछ।
