काठमाडौं/अगस्ट २८, २०२६: नेपाल सरकारको परराष्ट्र मन्त्रालयमा दर्ता भएको ‘युनाइटेड नेपाली डायस्पोरा अर्गनाइजेसन’ (UNDO) इन्टरनेसनलले नेपालको रसुवा तथा आसपासका जिल्लाहरूमा आएको विनाशकारी बाढीबाट प्रभावित पीडितहरूको सहयोगार्थ आयोजित विशेष अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय जुम बैठकमार्फत एक घण्टामै नेपाली रुपैयाँ ३० लाख (NPR 3 Million) संकलन गरेको छ।
“विपद् राहत रणनीति (Disaster Relief Strategies)” मुख्य एजेन्डामा आयोजित उक्त बैठकमा UNDO International का अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय कार्यसमितिका पदाधिकारी तथा सदस्यहरू, विभिन्न देशका UNDO राष्ट्रिय समितिका अध्यक्षहरू तथा अन्य प्रतिनिधिहरूको सहभागिता रहेको थियो। बैठकको अध्यक्षता UNDO International का अध्यक्ष सोनाम लामाले गर्नुभएको थियो भने महासचिव कृष्ण सञ्जेल केसीले बैठक सञ्चालन तथा सहजीकरण गर्नुभएको थियो।
बाढीमा ज्यान गुमाएकाप्रति श्रद्धाञ्जली तथा शोकसन्तप्त परिवारप्रति ऐक्यबद्धता
बैठकले विनाशकारी बाढीमा परी ज्यान गुमाएका सम्पूर्ण व्यक्तिहरूप्रति भावपूर्ण श्रद्धाञ्जली अर्पण गरेको छ। यस विपद्मा सयौँ व्यक्तिको ज्यान गएको र अझै एक हजारभन्दा बढी व्यक्ति बेपत्ता रहेको दुःखद अवस्थाप्रति बैठकले गहिरो दुःख व्यक्त गरेको छ।
बैठकका सहभागीहरूले यस अकल्पनीय मानवीय तथा भौतिक क्षतिप्रति गहिरो शोक व्यक्त गर्दै ज्यान गुमाउनेहरूका शोकसन्तप्त परिवार, आफन्त तथा प्रियजनहरूप्रति हार्दिक समवेदना, प्रार्थना र ऐक्यबद्धता व्यक्त गरिएको छ।
साथै, बाढीबाट घाइते, विस्थापित तथा प्रत्यक्ष वा अप्रत्यक्ष रूपमा प्रभावित सम्पूर्ण व्यक्तिहरूको सुरक्षा, शीघ्र स्वास्थ्यलाभ, पुनर्स्थापना र पुनर्निर्माणका लागि बैठकले प्रार्थना गरेको छ।

बैठकले UNDO International का उप-प्रेस संयोजक योगेश आदि तथा उहाँको परिवारप्रति विशेष ऐक्यबद्धता व्यक्त गरेको छ। रसुवाको बेत्रावतीस्थित उहाँको घर विनाशकारी बाढीबाट गम्भीर रूपमा क्षतिग्रस्त भएको छ। उहाँको गृहनगर बेत्रावतीमा बाढीले अत्यन्त ठूलो विनाश निम्त्याएको र २५० भन्दा बढी घरहरू बगाएको वा गम्भीर रूपमा क्षतिग्रस्त बनाएको अवस्थाप्रति बैठकले गहिरो चिन्ता र दुःख व्यक्त गरेको छ।
UNDO International ले श्री योगेश आदि, उहाँको परिवार, बेत्रावतीवासी तथा बाढीबाट प्रभावित सम्पूर्ण समुदायको सुरक्षा, साहस, पुनर्स्थापना र शीघ्र पुनर्निर्माणका लागि प्रार्थना गर्दै पूर्ण ऐक्यबद्धता व्यक्त गरेको छ।
UNDO USA का उपाध्यक्ष साम्बा पी. लामिछानेप्रति समवेदना
बैठकले UNDO USA का उपाध्यक्ष सम्बा पी. लामिछानेकी ममतामयी आमाको असामयिक निधनप्रति गहिरो दुःख व्यक्त गर्दै हार्दिक श्रद्धाञ्जली तथा समवेदना प्रकट गरेको छ। यस दुःखद घडीमा श्री लामिछाने, उहाँको परिवार, आफन्त तथा प्रियजनहरूलाई धैर्यधारण गर्ने शक्ति मिलोस् भन्ने कामना गर्दै बैठकका सहभागीहरूले दिवंगत आत्माको चिरशान्तिको कामना गरेका छन्।
एक घण्टामै रु. ३० लाख संकलन
नेपालमा उत्पन्न गम्भीर मानवीय संकटप्रति तत्काल सहयोग जुटाउने उद्देश्यले बैठकमा सहभागीहरूले एक घण्टाको अवधिमै करिब नेपाली रुपैयाँ ३० लाख सहयोग प्रतिबद्धता तथा संकलन गरेका छन्। यसले राष्ट्रिय विपत्तिको घडीमा विश्वभर छरिएर रहेका नेपालीहरू एकताबद्ध भएर मातृभूमिका लागि सहयोग गर्न तत्पर रहेको सन्देश दिएको छ।
UNDO International ले आफ्नो “बाढीपीडित राहत कोष संकलन अभियान” सेप्टेम्बर ३०, २०२६ सम्म निरन्तर सञ्चालन गर्ने निर्णय गर्दै कुल नेपाली रुपैयाँ १ करोड (NPR 10 Million) राखेको घोषणा गरेको छ। केहि रकम अर्को हप्तासम्म नेपाल सरकारको प्रधानमन्त्री राहत कोषमा जम्मा गरिनेछ।
यस एकमहिने अभियानमार्फत लक्ष्य हासिल गर्न UNDO International ले आफ्नो अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय सञ्जाल, विभिन्न देशका राष्ट्रिय समितिहरू, सदस्यहरू, समर्थकहरू, व्यवसायीहरू, शुभेच्छुकहरू तथा विश्वभर रहेका नेपाली डायस्पोरालाई परिचालन गर्नेछ।
बैठकले बाढीपीडित राहत अभियान (Flood Victims Relief Effort) मार्फत संकलित सम्पूर्ण रकम छिट्टै नेपाल सरकारको प्रधानमन्त्री दैवी प्रकोप उद्धार कोषमा जम्मा गर्ने निर्णय गरेको छ। त्यसैगरी दोश्रो र अन्तिम चरणमा उक्त रकम विपद्बाट प्रभावित समुदायहरूको राहत, पुनर्स्थापना, पुनर्निर्माण तथा आवश्यक मानवीय सहयोगका लागि नेपाल सरकरसंगको समन्यवमा योगदान गरिनेछ।
UNDO International ले आपत्कालीन आह्वानप्रति तत्काल सकारात्मक प्रतिक्रिया जनाउँदै सहयोग गर्ने अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय कार्यसमितिका पदाधिकारी तथा सदस्यहरू, विभिन्न देशका अध्यक्ष तथा प्रतिनिधिहरू, दाताहरू, समर्थकहरू र शुभेच्छुकहरूप्रति हार्दिक आभार व्यक्त गरेको छ।

यस गम्भीर राष्ट्रिय विपत्ति, मानवीय क्षति र पीडाको घडीमा UNDO International बाढीपीडित, जीवित उद्धार भएका व्यक्तिहरू, शोकसन्तप्त परिवार तथा प्रभावित समुदायहरूसँग दृढतापूर्वक उभिएको छ। हामी सबै मिलेर राहत पुर्याउन, आशा जगाउन र पुनर्निर्माणमा हातेमालो गर्न सक्छौँ।

UNDO International Raises NPR 3 Million in One Hour for Nepal Flood Victims; Sets NPR 10 Million Relief Target
Global meeting pays tribute to flood victims, expresses solidarity with affected families, and launches month-long fundraising campaign
KATHMANDU — August 28, 2026: The United Nepali Diaspora Organization (UNDO) International raised NPR 3 million (Rs. 30 lakh) in just one hour during a special international Zoom meeting convened to mobilize humanitarian assistance for victims of the devastating floods affecting Rasuwa and surrounding districts of Nepal.
Held under the agenda “Disaster Relief Strategies,” the meeting brought together UNDO International Executive Committee members, presidents of UNDO country organizations, and other representatives from across the global Nepali diaspora.
The meeting was presided over by Mr. Sonam Lama, President of UNDO International, and moderated by Mr. Krishna Sanjel KC, General Secretary of UNDO International.
Tribute to Flood Victims and Solidarity with Grieving Families
The meeting paid solemn tribute to those who lost their lives in the devastating floods, which have reportedly killed hundreds of people while more than a thousand remain missing.
Participants expressed their profound sorrow over the enormous loss of life and devastation caused by the disaster and extended their heartfelt condolences, prayers, and solidarity to the grieving families and loved ones of the victims.
The meeting also prayed for the safety, strength, and recovery of all those who have been injured, displaced, or otherwise affected by the catastrophe.
Solidarity with UNDO Deputy Press Coordinator Yogesh Adi
The meeting expressed special solidarity with Mr. Yogesh Adi, Deputy Press Coordinator of UNDO International, whose home in Betrawati, Rasuwa, was severely damaged by the devastating floods.
Participants noted the extraordinary destruction suffered by his hometown, where more than 250 homes were reportedly wiped out or severely affected.
UNDO International extended its prayers and support to Mr. Adi, his family, the residents of Betrawati, and all communities confronting the devastating consequences of the floods.
Condolences to UNDO USA Vice President Samba P. Lamichhane
The meeting also expressed its heartfelt condolences to Mr. Samba P. Lamichhane, Vice President of UNDO USA, on the untimely passing of his beloved mother.
Members observed the loss with deep sympathy and extended their thoughts and prayers to Mr. Lamichhane, his family, relatives, and loved ones during this difficult period of bereavement.
NPR 3 Million Raised in One Hour
Responding to the urgent humanitarian situation, participants pledged and contributed approximately NPR 3 million (Rs. 30 lakh) during the one-hour meeting, demonstrating the commitment of the global Nepali diaspora to stand together in times of national tragedy.
UNDO International announced that its Flood Victims Relief Fundraising Campaign will continue through September 30, 2026, with an overall fundraising target of:
NPR 10 MILLION — RS. 1 CRORE
UNDO International will mobilize its international network, national organizations, members, supporters, businesses, well-wishers, and the wider Nepali diaspora throughout the month-long campaign to help reach this goal.
The organization has decided that the funds collected through the Flood Victims Relief Effort will be deposited into the Government of Nepal’s Prime Minister’s Emergency Relief Fund to support relief, recovery, rehabilitation, and assistance for communities affected by the disaster.
UNDO International extends its sincere appreciation to all Executive Committee members, country presidents, representatives, donors, supporters, and well-wishers who responded to the emergency appeal.
The organization calls upon Nepalis around the world and friends of Nepal to join hands in supporting the campaign and helping achieve the NPR 1 crore fundraising target.
In this moment of profound loss and devastation, UNDO International stands together with the victims, survivors, grieving families, and affected communities. Together, we can bring relief, restore hope, and help Nepal rebuild.
